evening 10/1/09

tonight's dinner was delicious. i had broccoli with garlic and some other spices, dal/dhal/dahl/daal (if you're ever on jeopardy and need to know how many ways it can be spelled, you'll thank me), a curry with several vegetables and other ingredients, including yogurt and almonds, that was one of my all-time favorite things. also, perfectly cooked and seasoned basmati.

if i ate like this more often, i'd probably be a happier person.

flaubert famously said, "to be stupid, and selfish and to have good health are the three requirements for happiness; though if stupidity is lacking, the others are useless."

i'm pretty sure he meant to include curries as part of his happiness formula, but asking a frenchman how to be happy is like asking an englishman for tips on dental hygiene and so screw him.

also, did you know that turmeric might seriously help prevent alzheimer's?

it's also very difficult for a frenchman to like curry, maybe that's why he's not happy.

and p.s. the security word verification thing for this comment is "forking" which is deliciously appropriate for this blog.
